Eric A. Dixon
AWARD-WINNING CELEBRITY MASTER BARBER | SMP SPECIALIST
Dixon didn't aspire to become a barber. Instead, he wanted to hone in on his artistry through a traditional canvas and paint brush. Dixon's trajectory changed one day in 2009 when he visited a barber who - unbeknownst to him - used unsanitary tools on his head and he developed cellulitis - a skin infection that caused irritation, infection, and hair loss. That's when he decided to go into barbering.
"I started by watching YouTube videos of other barbers. Then, I would try different styles and techniques on my brother, father, grandfather and friends. Eventually, I grew to love it and began cutting hair as a side hustle."
He got licensed and opened his first shop in his father's basement. It wasn't long before Dixon moved KleanKut Grooming Lounge to Temple Hills, Maryland. He was there for five years before relocating to Waldorf. All of his shops are known to include heavy artistic décor, good conversation, and positive energy.
MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCATE
Experiencing life through trial and error induced a trauma that Dixon didn't know existed. There were times he failed at endeavors and those experiences caused spouts of depression, self-identity crisis, and uncertainty. One day, an observant friend recommended therapy.
It took a while to find the "right" therapist, but Dixon committed himself to the process. As a result, Dixon gained the tools to manage life and the stresses that come with it. Today, he's dedicated to helping black and brown boys break stigmas and unravel unproductive cycles.
"I know what therapy has done for me. I want the same for every man. I didn't like the man I represented. I could do better, so I committed to the process.”
WEALTH ADVOCATE
Dixon's childhood was riddled with too many nights of feeling insecure. The eldest of three, Dixon was determined to bring in more money for his family at a very young age. With no real financial know-how, he obtained and spent money hard and fast. Ultimately, Dixon fell on hard times. After years of hardship and countless failures, he decided to get serious about his money management.
He studied others and began adding his final touches to existing concepts. As such, he uses his platform to empower others to achieve financial wealth. More than anything, Dixon wants barbers to learn about and obtain life insurance, health insurance, and injury insurance.
"I love to encourage my peers and clients to watch the money. Learn where it comes from, how it moves in society, and the key players. Those are the ways to understand how one should spend and invest."
